I know I've had nothing but horrible results with Hitec servos, but I'm thinking of maybe buying another one or two.

I am looking at the high energy servos designed to run on 7.4v.

Couple questions:

Anyone here run them? If so describe them.
How does the receiver only get 6v? Inline resister?
Do you have to run a Lipo?
Could you use a standard 6cell 7.2v pack? The voltage difference is nominal. Much cheaper.

I know Lithium derived packs are the future, but I'm stuck in the past. haha I still run NiCad's in my MT! (Sanyo SC R/C cells FTW.) The cost of a new lipo or LiFe packs are cheap enough, but I would also have to buy a new charger too. That starts to add the costs up, especially if I could just toss in a 20 dollar NiMh pack and call it good.
