We just got wind there may be a newer version of the Baja 5B coming out.
We contacted HPI on this matter and have been told the photos cruising the net are from a trade show of a buggy that was for display only and the photos were not to be released to the public since the buggy doesn't really exist in production form.

There is no confirmation this buggy will ever hit the market and there are no available specs as such.

With HPI's track record you know that there will be one out sometime. The have done it wih all their off roads.

Oh... I was hoping that with all the rumors that it would be out next week.
No really I know there are "spy photos of almost everything out there" Just seems lots of people think just cause they saw a picture that it almost out. How long have we all seen pictures of the baja before it came out? Ive seen pics of lots of stuff that never makes it to production.

Yes but with the popularity of the existing version wouldn't it make sense to hold off and put out a truck body first?

interesting find. i wonder if it will have a bigger motor in it as per most of HPIs SS kits come with bigger motors?

yeah why make a truck body for a buggy? Would it not be better to make a truck? I'd love if hpi would come out with a 4x4 truck! But in the mean time I think I'm gonna put a buggy body on my 1:1 truck... lol

I'd love to see a straight axle 4x4 truck... it would give the true scale look!
But then I would have to buy a 1:1 scale truck to match it, but guess that would not be a bad thing!

Ya I think you can buy a trophy truck for about $250.000, I think that does not include any extra parts. LOL and if you can afford that why are you playing with the small car? LOL

the baja 5b ss is coming out its definate towerhobbies say mid october for$919 need radio gear but includes servos got a 26cc engine better shocks and dog bones driveshafts and just generaly stronger
