I run a head kit motor, I would say they are no better. Posibly even worse, the reason I say this is because there is more chance of something going wrong. But on the other hand if you want you can really play around with diffrent compression ratios. This is the reason I picked one up, even know I have yet to play around with diffrent ratios. I will still at some time be running this motor with alchol!
The TS head kits are better, ask ddm about these! Lots more money, but better built.

Lots of debate going on about head kit motors. With the heads being a 2 peace design there is a greater chance of developing a leak in them causing an overlly lean condition, or worst. I've never had this problem but have heard of others that have. Oneill head kit motors are the same as ddm's.
The top Tuners only mod standard engines, as they can safely be tuned to a higher degree than the Head kit engines.
But out of the box, the Head Kit engines produce a bit more power, than the standard Engines.
For the BLING effekt I like the Head kit, but as I want reliability as well, I run a Standard head, that has been race ported (DDM 29cc Race portet kit)

Mlocker, these are 2 diffrent motors all together. the first is a 28.5 and the second is a 29. Oneill's sells the same motor with clutch and stuffed crank for the same price http://oneillbrothersracing.com/rccar/itemdescription/29blackstuffed.htm
For 80 bucks more you can get this same motor race ported

I think he is looking for a stock stroke engine (going for the rpms!) Oneills has the 28.5 top end kit for $75, then the same thing race ported for $105!

This topend kit should be a direct bolt in, I know with zenoah topend kits that you need diffrent bearings for them to work. And the stuffed crank sell for 55 bucks. Give them a call and find out what they can do for you.
