I wonder why none of the tire manufacturers like Proline, or Panther, etc aren't making tires for the baja?

My guess is, there is a $5,000 investment in a mold. They wait to see what kind of demand their is.

$5000 for a tire mold? LOL. Try $20-30,000. That type of mold is very expensive. You would need to sell at least 1000 tire sets for $25 to pay for the tool. That is a bit of a gamble. Plastic injection mold are not cheap or easy to make. That is why you see alloy arms, braces and other items, but no molded plastic parts. Just because someone is a machinist does not mean they can build an injection mold. ;)

$25.00 retail a MFG would have to sell 2000 sets (MFGs dont make very much at their end)

I have been telling Scott & Mark from Proline to make a Badlands tire, that would be a Awsome all around tire.

What did Proline tell you or how did they react? Is it possible? I dont want to get to far into designing and building a tire mold if they are going to do it themselves.

Rob, no matter who makes tires their going to sell tires.
There can never be enough tread patterns out there. (IMHO)
